I would rate this boot far higher overall as I love the boot itself but have a few problems. First, the boot is lightweight, great looking and durable. I wear them on snow days and in heavier rain, and my feet stay dry and warm. My issue is, in two places the boot hurts my feet. The heel has a seam that is pressed against a tender spot along my achilles tendon and second there is a problem when I tighten my boots down near the toe end it digs into and bruises my foot. Both are very painful and I have tried using insoles cut to fit to solve this. I inserted one insole pad along the top of the boot so when I tighten it protects the top of my foot. This of course is clunky and I wish I didn't have to do this. My next attempt will be to order boot inserts which cost another $25 or so. I am hoping these work better and allow me to wear this boot. Of course you never know this until you order and try it out but I would probably not buy this boot again due to the above issues. It would be one thing if it was a minor issue but the fact is I can't wear the boot without resorting to extraordinary efforts to fix it.The boots fit nicely and they are comfortable. But they are very bulky up top and 1 squeaks when walking. (the upper squeaks) From the ankle down they are great. If I had to do it all over I wouldn't have went with the side zip. The extra material adds bulk and weight.I would like to find a side zip that was designed from the floor up to be a side zip only, meaning doing away with most of the bulk taken up with the tongue and laces. With the flap behind the side zipper, the extra material on either side of the tongue, and for some reason.. padding, the boot is so thick at the top it's like wearing a soft cast. If you have to run in them you can expect shin splints! If you have larger feet like mine, they look like you are wearing pac boots.I have a smaller build, so they were a big on my lower calf, but tightening the laces helped. They are super-light. Not light in comparison to boots, light in comparison to shoes. They are lighter than my tennis shoes. I haven't worn them too much yet, but they seem breathable and the tread feels excellent. They are comfortable and provide decent support. The soles are removable, but the ones they come with seem to be made for durability. Very good price for such an excellent product. Highly recommended.so i live in washington and everyday ride a bike to work in the rain or snow and dry days. the boots good for like 20 mins in the heavy rain after that it soaks threw, now this is after a month of owning them and wearing them as a daily work boot for warehouse type work. working in the boots are fine and comfy, standing in them for security type stationary jobs its not comfortable. other then that there good boot but definitely not waterproof.It was listed as waterproof, but they are not. The original Herman Survivors, which is where this originated from, were waterproof.They are a very comfortable boot to wear, I wear them all the time when I'm riding cross country on my motorcycle.I like the magnum viper pro boots , like the style , convenience of the side zipper for easy on excess . The boots fits very well and i guess after the break period they will feel even better .I needed new boots without breaking $100, which is hard to do for quality. These boots are nice and I had them broken in within the first day of wearing them. Never rubbed, blistered, or hurt anything, no matter what I'm doing in them or how long I'm wearing them. Waterproofing is good, no issues with that so far. I will definitely be buying these again and recommend them to everyone.if you have narrow feet this boots are for you. it will take a few times before i break them in but beside that a good deal I got them for 40$ wich is a bargain .After breaking them in, they're as expected. I needed 10.5 and they are an ideal size with solid stiffness that subsided with use. Quality wise, 2-3 year boots with minimal useage. Lightweight and easy, the zipper was the only weakpoint as it felt loose and delicate to the pull. Daily workhorse I'm confident with. (Flying, not walking.) I'd recommend this boot to anyone else not on the march or in the muck.
