Purchased this boot to meet the new coyote color requirements and maintain a jungle boot style and fit.Overall, the boot meets expectations for a boot. The issues I had were related to sizing. In every other boot I own across a variety of manufacturers and styles, I wear a 10 1/2. The 10 1/2 I ordered came in and was incredibly tight in the toe areas. I held it up to a 10 1/2 in another brand, and the length of the Bates boot was at leas a 1/2 inch shorter in length. Exchanged for an 11 and it fits much better. The laces on these boots are not quick laces by any stretch. They are robust and thick, but require time to tighten and loosen when taking off the boot or putting it on. In addition, the laces are much too short, barely leaving enough room to tie with no real ability to tuck and loop the laces. After about 2 weeks of wear, they are relatively comfortable for day to day garrison type use. The side jungle boot 'mesh' is similar to other jungle boot styles and seems to be wearing well.If the sizing and laces are addressed, this could be a 5-star boot. The boot overall fits pretty good and has been comfortable. The only true complaint I have is the boot is a little right on the top of my foot. That being said, they were INCREDIBLY uncomfortable out of the box. Make sure you unlace the entire boot and re-lace then prior to trying to break them in. If you lace them up looser, they are much more comfortable. This is the reason for a 4/5 star.Overall, solid construction on the boot and nice looking too. I’m in the Air Force and some of the guys in my unit have complemented them.I let me start off with saying I wear boots daily for work. I gave these boots 3 stars because they seemed like thay were made of quality products. I did send the boots back, thank you Amazon. I wore them for about 3 weeks and was not happy with them I had pinch points on my toes. The lower eyelet on the ankle hit right on my ankle bone, which caused it to be uncomfortable. There was also a spot on the top of my foot that had pressure that caused pain after several hours of wear. I had a pair of Rocky boots before these and after I sent the bates back I bought another pair of the Rocky SV2. Save your time and buy the Rocky's.This is essentially a 9 month review of these boots, as I purchased them right around New Years 2017.Originally got these boots to be my 'ruck/field' boots; I'm a medic in a Mechanized unit who does a few rucks a month, and several months of field time a year. Overall, decent usage and mileage of the boots, but nothing too crazy (ongoing daily 24hr a day use and the like). They fit pretty well, and the 'crinkle' noise people note does indeed go away after getting them a bit worn in. The heel has been pretty rough on my feet, even tightening them pretty hard I still use a bit of padding (or even moleskin) on my heels when I'm putting even modest mileage into them, to prevent blisters. Still, nothing too unexpected and crazy.Toughness though, I've been disappointed. Some cracking is already happening in the sole of these boots, and eyelets have started to break on the base of one boot. The eyelets are unfortunately, just some pieces of plastic, so they don't just slip...they shatter when they come out. I'm at the point where I've gotta take them in to see if a repair shop can replace them.Don't recommend for anyone expecting a really durable boot, as a result. Definitely comfortable for lighter duty, and even more moderate activity to an extent.Decent boots, great air circulation (dry quickly and I can feel the air go through them if I wear while riding my motorcycle), and size fit according to expectation; weak soles mine are starting to flake off. I used these on average 3-4 times a week while teaching an tactical course for the military in the Utah mountains. I doubt I ever have done much more than 30 miles with them in any given week since getting them. Purchased them in June of 2017 and by November of the same year the soles are starting to have small pieces (especially near the heel; other areas have early cracks) flake and then come off.Additionally the shoes had weird & uncomfortable two piece inserts when I first purchased. I removed both of them and have been using the inserts I normally use and they've been very comfortable with them.I love these boots. I have two pairs that I switch off daily. When broken in the feel like wearing slippers. These are great boots. I originally ordered the jungle version but they were way to loud in the ankle area which crackled and popped with every step. So I got the hot weather which are quiet, very very comfortable and extremely light-weight with great grip on rocky terrain. My only negative feedback is on the bottom of the tongue the stitching broke and was letting sand in my right boot but an easy fix.I'm used to a lined boot so the uppers felt strange, and lots of pressure points. A bout 3 days of very light wear and they feel great now. Sizing was spot on for me, runs the same as Redwings if you have experience with them.サイズがワンサイズ大きい方が良いと書いてあったのに履いてみたら普通で良かったのが残念
